ft2232d

The FT2232D is a dual high-speed USB to multi-purpose UART/FIFO IC from FTDI Chip. It provides a simple way to connect USB to serial interface with an array of popular industry standard serial interfaces. With a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480Mb/s) interface, it supports the legacy UART interface, enhanced dual-channel FIFO interface, and Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE) interface. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications such as USB to RS232/RS422/RS485 converters, USB to FIFO interfaces, and USB to JTAG adaptors. The FT2232D offers advanced features including a built-in clock generator and 3.3V/5V CMOS outputs to drive external logic. The MPSSE engine enables communication with I2C, SPI, and JTAG interfaces, making it ideal for development and debugging in embedded systems. With support for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, the FT2232D is a versatile and reliable solution for USB to serial conversion and interfacing in various electronic applications.
