max7219 datasheet

The MAX7219 is a compact, serial input/output common-cathode display driver that decodes and drives up to 8 digits of 7-segment LED displays, or a maximum of 64 individual LEDs. This driver is capable of controlling both the display and the matrix, allowing for a wide range of applications in consumer electronics, industrial control systems, and more. Its versatile serial interface allows for easy communication with microcontrollers and other digital systems. The MAX7219 also includes a BCD code-B decoder, a multiplex scan circuit, segment drivers, and a highly efficient 150µA LED current drive. With its low power consumption and dynamic scanning display capability, the MAX7219 provides an excellent solution for controlling LED displays in applications requiring a small form factor and efficient power usage.
